Picture books

Picture books hold a very special place in my heart, and I’ve never got fewer than two story ideas in development at any given time! From sweet rhyming stories to quirky, fun tales, the challenge of telling a story through words and then visualising how those moments can be brought to life through illustration is a uniquely beautiful thing.

I Love Being a Sloth

From the jungles of South America to a Mexican lake home, all the way to the Scottish Highlands, come and meet some of our planet’s most fascinating, adorable and unique animals in this beautifully illustrated rhyming series.

The series began with ‘I Love Being a Sloth’, a celebration of the beauty of slowing down and enjoying life in the slow lane. From there, we journeyed to the mysterious Mexican lake home of the one-in-a-kind axolotl, swung by to meet the world’s friendliest animal, the capybara. Next, I got wrapped up warm to frolick in chilly waters with the playful sea otter, and, most recently, explored the windswept Scottish Highlands to meet everyone’s favourite gentle giant in the newest addition to the series, ‘I Love Being a Highland Cow’.

Perfect for budding environmentalists, animal lovers and curious minds, this series has been such a joy to write and develop, and working with the illustrators to bring each scene to life.
